Why This Event Matters?
Going through the refugee claim process is hard! This gathering is designed to bring refugee claimant parents and their teens (ages 14–18) together with local youth mentors in a relaxed, welcoming space. It marks the first partnership event between COMPASS Refugee Centre and Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS), a new collaboration focused on belonging and youth mental well‑being. By creating a safe, friendly environment to talk, play, and create together, we aim to strengthen youth collaboration, build confidence, and a sense of belonging in the community.
Come sit with us! Whether you’re new to the area or looking to meet other families, you’re invited to share food, conversation, and creativity with us. Everyone is welcome. Come as you are.
