Are you navigating family life in Canada and looking to better understand parenting, social expectations, and cultural integration?
Join us for this informative and interactive workshop facilitated by the African Women’s Alliance of Waterloo Region, designed to support refugee claimants, protected persons, and all newcomers as they build confidence and connection within Canadian society.
Participants will:
- Learn about children’s rights and parental responsibilities in Canada
- Gain a better understanding of parenting expectations within the Canadian context
- Explore the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and multiculturalism
- Become familiar with common Canadian social norms and everyday etiquette
- Discover ways to preserve their cultural identity while adapting to life in Canada
This workshop provides a welcoming space for learning, discussion, and sharing experiences with other families in the community.
Language: English, with Spanish and Ukrainian interpretation available.
