CELEBRATE: 15 people granted protected person status
TIDBIT: Children are treated separately from their parents in a refugee claim. That means children could be granted protection, but not their parents.
World Refugee Day is June 20th, but celebratory events are often throughout the month of June! This year we celebrated with Liz, one of our interpretation and translation volunteers as she received an Award of Distinction on June 4th. We also enjoyed an evening with The Sultans of String as we screened The Refuge Project Visual Album at The Princess Original on June 15th. Pictured with bandleader Chris McKhool are Cesar and his wife, Elis.
