    Over the month of April:

    • 58 new people from 12 countries
    • Colombia remains the number one country we see people coming from
    • Lesotho is the farthest people have come from – 15,414 km

    CELEBRATE: 20 people granted protected person status in May
    TIDBIT: The Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA) only applies to people trying to enter Canada by land from the United States. People flying directly to Canada are not impacted.

    UPDATE ON COMPASS CONVERSATIONS (formerly FIRESIDE CHATS)

    Our COMPASS CONVERSATION on May 9th about COMPASS membership was a wonderful interaction with a small and insightful group of people. Building on relationships and not having forms to fill out, were just some of the great thoughts shared!

    Join us for our next COMPASS CONVERSATIONS:
    June 12th at NOON: learn more about the differences between a refugee claimant and a government-assisted refugee. REGISTER HEREJune 13th at 7:00pm: meet with some Board members and learn about why they are excited about COMPASS. REGISTER HEREDo you have questions you want to ask?     SULTANS OF STRING: The Refuge Project
    6:45pm on Thursday June 15th at the Princess Original Cinema

    COMPASS is partnering with 3x Juno Award winners and 2022 Cannes Festival Film winner Sultans of String to screen their Visual Album. A live Q & A with some of these amazing artists will follow immediately after the film. Click here to see the official trailer. All proceeds and donations will go to COMPASS programs!
