Help us answer the call!
We learned this past week that the province is going to provide funding to get refugee claimants either out of emergency shelter or keep them from ending up in shelter. The Region of Waterloo is asking for our help to get the funding to claimants currently in shelter, and to those who are currently in insecure, unsafe, or inadequate housing. That is a great ask and opportunity, but we need to EXCEED our budget to be able to respond with the extra staff time it will take to collaborate.
Today is the last day to donate for our fiscal year end! Even though we had 50% more donors than ever for our summer campaign, we were only able to raise a third of what we would normally raise as so many have had to trim their generosity. If you can help, all donations received online or postmarked by 11:59pm on September 30th – yes, that’s today – will help us not only avoid a deficit, but enable us to answer the call and get, or keep, claimants out of the shelter system.
