Thus, we define ourselves by the profit we bring to a community. The term “social profit”, coined by David Grant in his book, The Social Profit Handbook, suggests that the wellbeing of society is dependent on organizations doing their work and doing it really well for the good of those they help directly and for the good of their community.
The most pivotal questions we want to answer are, “how do we know we are improving people’s lives” and “how do we know we are having not just impact but the right impact?”
We work to gather and celebrate the stories and input of all who make up COMPASS: donors, volunteers, staff, interns, partners, community members and most importantly, refugee claimants. Only as we work together can we know best what is needed, what works, and how lives can be changed.
